Privacy Policy

← Hosting siteThis covers what RankEdge collects about you, our customer, and what happens to the data on the sites we host for you. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not put analytics or tracking scripts on the sites we host.
What we store about you
- Account: your email address, and optionally your name and time zone. The time zone is used only to show dates and deadlines in your local time.
- Sign-in: whether your account has a password and which passkeys are registered to it. Passwords and passkey credentials are held by our identity provider, not by us — we never see or store a password.
- Billing: a customer reference from our payment processor, your subscription and invoice history. Card numbers never reach our servers; they go directly to the processor.
- Your sites and domains: site name, plan, status, server address, backups taken, any domains registered or connected, and any email-forwarding addresses you set up.
- Email preferences: whether you want receipts, downtime alerts and reports.
Visitors to the sites we host
Our CDN writes standard access logs for every request to your site. Those logs contain visitor IP addresses and browser user-agent strings. We use them for one thing: counting daily visitors and page views for your dashboard. The raw logs are deleted automatically after 14 days, and what survives is a per-day count with nothing identifying in it. We do not build visitor profiles or use this data for advertising.
Anything you install on your WordPress site — analytics, pixels, plugins, forms — is yours, collects on your behalf, and is your responsibility under privacy law. We do not add any of it.
Cookies
The dashboard sets cookies to keep you signed in. That is all they do. There are no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies on our own pages, which is why you have never seen a consent banner here.
Data we hold on your behalf
- Backups of your site — database and files — kept for 7 days on Launch and 30 days on Grow and Commerce. A final backup is kept for 30 days after cancellation, then deleted.
- Migration uploads you send us are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Forwarded email: if you use email forwarding, messages pass through our system to reach your inbox. The stored copy is deleted after 30 days. We do not read, scan or index it.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of sub-processors, each for one job: Stripe (payments and invoices), Amazon Web Services (servers, storage, CDN, DNS, email delivery and receipt, and the identity provider that holds your credentials), Vercel (serving the dashboard and this site), and Resend (transactional email such as receipts and alerts). If you choose to sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity to us and we receive your email address. Infrastructure and data are located in the United States.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We process account, site and billing data because it is necessary to provide the service you bought and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Visitor counts and uptime checks rest on our legitimate interest in running the service and showing you how your site is doing. We do not rely on consent for anything except optional marketing email, which you can turn off at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email contact@rankedge.ai and we will action it within 30 days. Account deletion is handled by hand today rather than by a button in the dashboard, so it takes a reply from us rather than a click from you. Deleting an account removes your site, its backups and your account record; invoices are kept where tax law requires it.
Security
Traffic to your site and to the dashboard is encrypted in transit. Sites run on their own server rather than a shared one. When our support needs access to your WordPress we create a temporary administrator account that expires and is deleted automatically, and every such grant is logged — we do not use or store your own WordPress password. If we ever suffer a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority within 72 hours of finding out.
Changes and contact
Material changes to this policy are emailed to customers; the date at the top always shows the current version. Questions go to contact@rankedge.ai.
