Terms of Service

← Hosting site

These terms apply to RankEdge managed WordPress hosting, domain registration, and related services purchased through this hosting site. By purchasing or using those services, you agree to these terms. The main marketing website has separate terms.

What you get

A WordPress site on a server provisioned for you, with an SSL certificate, CDN caching, daily backups and one-click restore. Plans are single-site; additional sites are a paid add-on and run on the same server as the plan that pays for them. Plan pages state the disk and monthly data-transfer allowance of the server each plan is provisioned onto, and those figures are what we buy.

Visit, storage and bandwidth figures on plan pages are what we size and budget your plan against. They are not meters: we do not bill overages, going past them does not trigger a charge, and we will never send you an invoice you did not agree to in advance. Nothing is throttled or switched off the moment you cross a line.

What happens instead is a conversation. If a site consistently uses more than its plan provides, we will tell you what we are seeing and ask you to move up a tier. Occasional spikes — a launch, a good week, a post that travels — are exactly what the headroom is for and we will not mention them.

We reserve the right to require an upgrade, or to end the plan with 30 days’ notice and a pro-rata refund, where a single site’s sustained use is far beyond its tier and no suitable tier exists — for example using the service primarily to distribute large media or as a general-purpose file host. This is a backstop for the rare case, not a threshold anyone running a normal website will meet.

Uptime

Our uptime guarantee is at least 99.99% reachability — no more than about 53 minutes of downtime in a year. We do not otherwise accept liability for lost revenue, lost data or consequential loss. Scheduled maintenance we announce in advance, and outages caused by your own code, plugins or third-party services, are excluded.

Backups

Backups run daily and you can restore any of them yourself from the dashboard. Launch keeps 7 days of history; Grow and Commerce keep 30. Backups we take immediately before a destructive action you asked for — a reset or a restore — are kept 30 days regardless of plan, so those actions stay reversible. Backups are a convenience, not an archive: keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Billing

Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Prices shown are the amount charged in the currency displayed at checkout. Annual plans are billed as a single payment for twelve months. We do not charge setup fees, bandwidth overages or per-visit fees. Add-ons (extra sites, domain and email setup, per-task work) are priced separately and shown before you buy.

If a payment fails we will retry and email you. A subscription that stays unpaid, or a chargeback decided against us, ends service immediately.

Cancellation & refunds

Cancel any time yourself from Dashboard → Billing & plan — no emails, no phone calls. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: your site stays live and unchanged until that date, and you can undo the cancellation from the same screen at any point before it. When the period ends the site is taken down and we keep a full final backup for 30 days, so a change of heart inside that window can be undone with one email. After 30 days the backup is deleted and cannot be recovered.

If you run into an issue, contact us and we will work with you to try to resolve it. For annual plans, refund requests made within the first 15 days may be approved on a case-by-case basis. After that, annual plan payments are non-refundable, including for unused months. Monthly plan payments are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, and your service remains available through the end of the current billing period. Domain registrations are non-refundable once registered — that is the registry’s rule, not ours.

Domains

Domains bought through RankEdge are registered on your behalf with WHOIS privacy enabled, which keeps your name and address out of the public record. We hold the registration and manage renewals so you never deal with a registrar. The domain is yours: ask and we will release it to any registrar you name, free, and we will not delay or condition the transfer. Transfers are handled by hand today, so allow us a few business days.

Acceptable use

Do not use RankEdge to send spam, host malware or phishing pages, run cryptocurrency mining, distribute content you have no right to distribute, or break the law of your country or ours. Do not use your server to attack other systems. Sites doing these things are suspended, and we will tell you why. Repeated or deliberate abuse ends the account without refund.

You are responsible for your site’s content and for the plugins and themes you install. We keep WordPress and its plugins updated automatically, but we cannot guarantee an update will not break a site you have customised — that is what one-click restore is for.

Support access

When we need to look inside your WordPress to help you, we create a temporary administrator account that expires and is deleted automatically. Every one of those grants is logged with who asked for it and why. We do not store or use your own WordPress password.

Changes

We may change these terms or plan prices at any time, and we reserve the right to do so. Changes to these terms take effect when this page is updated and the date at the top changes; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. Price changes are different: they are emailed at least 30 days before they take effect and never apply mid-term to a plan you have already paid for; if you do not want the new price, cancel before it starts.
